Hi guys! Hope you had the best weekend! I am currently still recovering from a pretty brutal hangover so I have spent the day eating and being horizontal. So much for a productive Sunday, am I right? Every week I tell myself Sundays are for groceries and laundry but rarely do either occur. ANYWAY…
So fun fact, I low key LOVE music videos. I didn’t realize this was weird at all until the other day when my friends and I were talking about music and I kept finding myself asking if they had seen the video. Turns out burning people CDs in 2016 also marks you as a freak. Who knew? Maybe it’s that I’m a 90s kid and grew up watching MTV and VH1, but I have always appreciated a good music video. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t know 98% of Brittney Spears choreography back in the day. (I’m actually a TERRIBLE dancer and my friends refer to my moves as “dad at a BBQ,” but that’s a story for another day.) Some of my favorite artists I actually got attached to because they make great music videos. If you aren’t familiar with Duke Dumont, I highly encourage you to go watch some of his music videos. His song “I Got U” (which is on this playlist!) is one of my favorites.
Not to be corny AF, but a big part of why I love music is because it can make you feel a certain way. I listen to sappy love songs and cry, listen to my workout playlist to get pumped. (My poor boyfriend is like, “holy shit.. too many emotions.”) But jokes aside, I love that you can play a song or playlist for someone and share a vibe. Lauren, my friend and photographer, and I spent the better part of a road trip blaring Blink 182 and screaming/singing along. Like don’t you instantly love people more when you find out you listen to the same kind of music? I know I do. Special shout out to one of my very first friends in California, Libby, who I will forever steal music from. I spend the majority of my time with her Shazamming all the songs on her playlists.
Considering I started this blog to share my vibe, it seems fitting to do a post from time to time on what I’m listening to. After all, your vibe attracts your tribe.. so come sing loudly and badly with me!
ps: Leave your favorite feel good songs in the comments so I can go check them out! You can never have enough jams.
